As I look out at the way government influences society I am disgusted of the unessential services it is providing at the tax payers expense. Some wasteful programs are easy to target, some should not be cut, and some fit in a gray area. One of these gray areas is public libraries.
Why we should cut it
We are fast on the path to governments undergoing financial collapse and are gong to have to make painful cuts. In the age of the internet public libraries no longer serve the same function they once did.
Why we should not cut it
Some people can not afford a computer and the internet in their home, public libraries provide people of all economic circumstances with an opportunity to be informed and educated.
I can see both sides of the argument. What do you think? Should we cut funding for public libraries?
