Question #2 Answer

It's that time again, time to answer the weekend's trivia question. We had a few correct answers on this question. As with last week, the answer illustrates an important point. The answer:

The Plymouth Roadrunner

The Roadrunner, was produced from 1968 to 1980, although 1975 was the end of it being a powerful muscle car. This car was (in my opinion) the greatest of the old muscle cars. It's powerful engine (426 hemi option), high clearance, and solid steel body, made it a favorite of moonshiners, who used it leave cops in the dust on back roads.

Chrysler arranged with Warner Brothers to use the famous Roadrunner as the logo. The Coyote and Roadrunner were also used in promotional adds. They even went so far as to make the horn sound with the Roadrunners classic Meep! Meep!

My favorite year was the 1969 model (the red one pictured above). It stands today as a fond reminder of the height of American prosperity. In 1969 we were walking on the Moon, John Wayne was the number one actor, and this thing was tearing up drag strips across the country. Today, we have to hitch a ride with the Russians just to get into space, Hollywood is dominated by a bunch sissy pretty-boys, and Plymouth stopped making cars years ago. In fact America makes hardly anything. That is what forty years of socialism will do to a great nation.
