What is the source of our Freedom? The greatest liberty and economic prosperity with the least amount of genuine hardship has been the result of men who defied Tyranny and understood these words included in the Declaration of Independence....
How did the founders obtain such an understanding of liberty? To start with they had a key that would enable them to seek the best knowledge and information to bless the people. What was that key? That key was genuine Desire to understand the failures and successes of previous civilizations and governmental systems. Some of those examples were obtained from historical records such as the Bible. That is why men Like Thomas Jefferson studied the Bible in several languages.
What is it that Jefferson wanted us to know to preserve Liberty? Was it the Source of our Rights and the respect we owe to that source? Was it that we should always be concerned about the violation of the rights of others? Do we support government policies that exercise any degree of compulsion or dominion over our fellow men?

This year is the 400 year Anniversary of the printing of THE KING JAMES BIBLE.
William Tyndale wanted people to have knowledge of God to liberate them. He went against the state dominated religion and was hung for his efforts of making Gods will available to all people and not just in the hands of a few. But it was Gods will that all people could have his word and apply the principles in order to be a free people, and to spare themselves if they so choose, from following the paths of failure of previous civilizations.
King James Version of the bible in 1611 drew significantly on Tyndale's translations. One estimation suggests the New Testament in the King James Version is 83% Tyndale's, and the Old Testament 76%.[2]"
Benjamin Franklin wanted the Great Seal to have the image of the dramatic scene described in Exodus, where people confronted a tyrant in order to gain their freedom.

We have all heard the statement "Give me liberty or give me death!" In my mind there are men that lived by give others liberty at the risk of my death" Wiliam Tyndale is a great example of that. Another Inspiration example of that in my mind is Helmeth Huebner, who as a teenager went to great lengths to expose Hitler. While in court for treason for sharing truth (not unlike Tyndale) he stated " Today I die for no crime at all" He gave his life for his belief and for the liberty of others. His story is very inspirational to me as a liberty lover concerned for the welfare of our fellows. I encourage anyone not familiar with the Helmeth Huebner story to look for a book on it, or to watch the documentary Truth and Conviction.

Reading Article III you will see the order of importance listed as Religion, Morality and Knowledge.
As you will see reading the Northwest Ordinance and by reading historical documents and words of the founding fathers, they believed in Religion and morality. The purpose of Separation of Church and State was not to separate God from education and government but rather to prevent the government from embracing any one particular religion as has happened historically.
Regarding Religion and Education the question was then naturally asked "who's religion"?
Religion, Morality and Knowledge was the anchor of the American Culture from 1620 to 1936. The Founders did not create rights. They re-discovered them and realized there were no devine right of kings, rights were a gift from God to all men.
Samuel Adams said -"This is the religion of America....
Ben Franklin said "These are the fundamentals of all sound religion.....
Here are the 5 things that all sound religions have in common....
1. There exists a creator who made all things and mankind should recognize and worship him.
2. The creator has revealed a moral code of behavior for happy living which distinguishes right from wrong.
3. The creator holds mankind responsible for the way they treat each other.
4. All mankind live beyond this life.
5.In the next life individuals are judged for their conduct in this one.
"These are the uniting principles of morality that were to be taught in schools and was mandated by congress. It was not until the demise of McGuffy Readers that Religion and Morality were abandoned in our schools to be replaced by a content of trivia and amusement"

Now that we know what the priorities of the Founders were regarding education, how do those values the United States were founded on compare with today?
Does our current government educational system promote those foundation principles?
Today I believe the morally bankrupt compulsory education programming is the cause of many of the problems we face.
Consider what Albert Einstein said about education..

I have come to believe our government schools are intentionally promoting the collectivist mindset. Now that I have given some information as to what was important in an education during the Era of the Founders lets look at the goals of the Collectivists and education.

What did the Collectivist promoters want to achieve at a time when America had people yearning to learn?

Secretary of this meeting was William Ellery Channing, Horace Mann’s own minister as well as an international figure and the leading Unitarian of his day. The location of the meeting house is not entered in the minutes nor are the names of the assembly’s participants apart from Channing. Even though the literacy rate in Massachusetts was 98 percent, and in neighboring Connecticut, 99.8 percent, the assembled businessmen agreed the present system of schooling allowed too much to depend upon chance. It encouraged more entrepreneurial exuberance than the social system could bear.

The conditioning of modern American society began with John Dewey, a psychologist, a Fabian. Socialist and the “Father of Progressive Education."
(Note the date of 1834 above. Just prior to this a book was published (1828) that some school children were learning that encouraged them to learn constitutional principles that most adults today and even claimed "constitutionalists" would not understand. That book is available online here..
Mr. O.A. Nelson, retired educator, has supplied the vitally important documentation needed to support the link-up between the textbooks and theCouncil on Foreign Relations. His letter was first printed in 'Young Parents Alert' (St. Elmo, Minnesota). His story is self-explanatory.
"I know from personal experience what I am talking about. In December 1928, I was asked to talk to the American Association for the Advancement of Science. On December 27th, naĂŻve and inexperienced, I agreed. I had done some special work in teaching functional physics in high school. That was to be my topic. The next day, the 28th, a Dr. Ziegler asked me if I would attend a special educational meeting in his room after the AAAS meeting. We met from 10 p.m. until after 2:30 a.m."
"We were 13 at the meeting. Two things caused Dr. Ziegler, who was Chairman of the Educational Committee of the Council on Foreign Relations, to ask me to attend… my talk on the teaching of functional physics in high school, and the fact that I was a member of Progressive Educators of America, which was nothing but a Communist front. I thought the word 'progressive' meant progress for better schools. Eleven of those attending the meeting were leaders in education. Drs. John Dewey and Edward Thorndike, from Columbia University, were there, and the others were of equal rank. I checked later, and found that all were paid members of the Community Party of Russia. I was classified as a member of the Party, but I did not know it at the time."
In Summary I would like to suggest that I believe we have two choices. One promotes liberty and genuine education and the other embraces indoctrination and a propoganda monopoly.
Individuals have rights granted by their creator, which should not be violated.
Collectivists believe that individuals rights can be violated because they do not believe rights are from divine origin. They believe the group is the "greater good". The real battle is between agency of the individual with his god given rights against collectivist idea that breeds Tyrants and Oppression under the false cloak of security.
What is Collectivism?
I believe there are many good intentioned collectivists, but I also believe that the origination and promotion of collectivism is from a hidden agenda and that many collectivists are actually tools of that hidden motive to promote the lie of a false security.
